Intro to Flameworking:
Marble & Figurine
This class is intended to introduce the student to the ancient art of Flameworking. In this 2 hour class, students will use gas/oxy torches and graphite and steel tools to produce marbles and figurines. Topics covered include: Basic safety and equipment operation, fundamentals of hot glass manipulation, glass color usage and surface decoration, and more!
Intro to Flameworking: Pendants
This class is intended to introduce the student to the ancient art of Flameworking. Topics covered include: Basic safety and equipment operation, fundamentals of hot glass manipulation, glass color usage and surface decoration, and more!
Intro to Flameworking:
In this class we will explore the over 5000 year old art form of glass beadmaking. Over the course of the 2 hour class you will learn all the fundamental skills and information needed to produce your own glass beads in nearly any shape or color you can imagine. Topics covered include: Basic safety and equipment operation, fundamentals of hot glass manipulation, “wound” glass or mandrel bead making, glass color usage, surface decoration, and much more.
Intro to Fused Glass: Pendants
Learn to make your own beautiful one of a kind glass pendants in this introductory glass fusing class. Each student will arrange a vast assortment of colorful glass bits and pieces, creating original designs to be fused, or melted, overnight in a kiln. Topics covered include: cutting sheet glass and rods, techniques in arranging and stacking glass for unique effects, basic fusing theory, and more!
Create colorful, swirling galaxies you can wear around your neck in this 3 hr. level II class. Topics covered include: color use and application, shaping using gravity and tools, making the perfect hook, and more!
Learn to make colorful and elegant glass flowers in this level II-III class. Topics covered include: sculpting techniques to create many different types of flower petals, assembly of multiple parts, using bridges, color use, basic flower anatomy and more!
Jellyfish can be found in every ocean...and now they can be encapsulated in glass, to be worn around your neck! Complete with trailing, squiggly tentacles and a gelatinous looking body, these pendants will be your (and everyone else's) new favorite. Topics covered include: pulling and using stringers & simple cane, color use, clear encasement, basic jellyfish anatomy and more!
Eyes, Drips & Horns
Glass eyes have been around for centuries. Originally a prosthetic, later used by taxidermists, and now worn as pendants! Learn to make your very own eye balls in this Level III-IV class. Add drips and horns with strong connections, color layers, and smooth curves.
Learn to create your very own hand held glass octopus in this 4hr level III class! Topics covered include; making and using eye murrini, sculpting and forming solid glass, frit color use and more!
Fumed Bubble Implosion Pendants
Learn to create beautiful silver and gold fumed pendants with imploded dot patterns in this focused class. Topics covered include: fuming with silver and gold, dot application & control, bubble implosions, pendant design & more!
Using borosilicate glass, students will learn to make elegant starfish, fish and seahorses. Using hot glass and gravity to achieve flowing shapes and forms will be emphasized.
Straws & Swizzle Sticks
Learn to make you r very own reusable glass straws and swizzle sticks in this level 2 class! Students will learn to cut and flame polish glass rods and tubes and then how to decorate them! Add colorful dots & other decorations to make each one unique.
Sea Turtle Pendants
Turtles teach us to slow down and pace ourselves in this busy world. Come practice patience with us in this level II class and learn to make this wise creature in glass form. We will use colored frit and dot stacks to create shells, match and assemble fins, and attach hooks to complete a wearable sea turtle.
Dichroic Glass Pendants & Marbles
Learn to create glittering dichroic glass pendants and marbles on the torch in this level II class. Careful heat control and torch use will be key!
What is "dichroic glass"?
glass that is produced by layering micro-layers of metals or oxides on the glass, resulting in an array of shifting colors depending on the angle of view....so pretty!
or is it a tortoise? Either way, it's adorable and you will learn how to make them out of glass in this focused class. From the colorfully, decorated shells, to the tiny little eyes...your new friend will be a one of a kind! Topics covered include: color use, dot patterns, detail work and more!
Pig & Elephant Figurines
With just a few blobs of glass and some simple tools, students will learn to make little pig and elephant friends. They make great figurines, ornaments or even pendants!
Intro to Flameworking required
Encased Opal Marbles & Pendants
Learn to encase synthetic opals in glass to create pendants & marbles that really sparkle! Topics covered include: encasing synthetic opals, heat control, compatibility, pendant & marble design and more!
All About Dots
This 3hr class will get students started in the amazing world of beads with dots! Using morretti glass, students will learn how to execute simple dot patterns using multiple colors and stringers. topics covered include: pulling stringers, spacing dots, dot stacks, and more!
Learn to make your very own glimmering, shimmering glass hummingbirds in this 3 hour Level II class! Using gas/oxy torches and graphite and steel tools to sculpt and shape clear and transparent colored glass, each student will create 2 or more hanging hummingbird figurines. Perfect for those who have taken an Intro level class or those looking to become faster and more efficient in their working process.
Students will learn all the fundamental skills needed to make spoon pipes, one hitters and bubble caps. Topics covered include: breaking down and prepping tubing, basic shaping and blowing, refinement of design and function, and more!Perfect for those looking to get started in functional glass or those looking to refine their skills.
